Gina, Deer Teacher

I graduated with a B.A. in English from Loyola University Chicago in May of 2008 . During my time spent in Chicago, I had the opportunity to work at Lincoln Park Kids Club to earn extra money for school. After my first day, I knew it was the right job for me.

After I graduated in May, I moved back to Minnesota. When the time came for me to search for a job, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in childcare and development.

I believe that experience is such a large part of learning and development and I enjoy being present in a child's life when everything is new and interesting to them. As a young child I developed an interest in drawing and painting. I strongly believe that creativity is crucial for development and I enjoy incorporating creative and artistic experiences into a child's daily activities. I hope to one day combine my passion for art as well as my experience with children and write and illustrate a children's book.

It is obvious to me that working at the Intergenerational Learning Center will be an amazing and positive experience and I truly look forward to getting to know both the parents and children.
